The Association uses the Balint-style seminar method of experiential learning to:

  • enhance psychosexual awareness
  • develop increasing confidence and skill in discussing sexual issues
  • use those skills to develop team awareness of the work possible with challenging patient encounters
  • develop patient-centred approaches in practice

We welcome health care professionals from all areas of practice. Current and past members of the Association of Psychosexual Nursing work in clinical areas such as: General Practice, Sexual Health, Physiotherapy, Oncology, Gynaecology, Urology, Health Visiting, Psychosexual Therapy, General Nursing, Midwifery, Nurse Education.

We organise and supervise Balint style seminars for the training and supervision of health care professionals. We aim to raise awareness of psychosexual nursing by organising study days, workshops & speakers for conferences.
